The HID Signo™ 40K PIV Reader is designed for wall switch mounting and combines a standard form factor with an integrated keypad for multi-factor authentication. Built on the Signo platform, it supports PIV-based credentials with contactless interfaces and includes a Card Authentication Key (CAK) certificate when used with HID pivCLASS authentication solutions.
Engineered for high-security environments, the Signo 40K PIV Reader meets FIPS 201 requirements and supports a wide range of PKI-based credentials, including PIV, PIV-I, CAC, TWIC, CIV, and FRAC. It delivers strong authentication and dependable performance for government facilities, contractors, and other secure applications.
As part of the HID pivCLASS ecosystem, the reader offers enhanced read range and fast transaction speeds while meeting NIST SP 800-116 assurance levels. It is also compatible with legacy HID PIV solutions, helping protect existing investments while enabling flexible integration with a variety of access control systems.
The reader can be customized with multiple credential formats, color options, and mounting or wiring configurations to fit your installation needs. With out-of-the-box OSDP support and remote management capabilities, the Signo 40K helps reduce on-site maintenance and provides a straightforward upgrade path for modern access control systems.
